We have two upcoming conferences in the Dayton, Ohio region this summer 2019

Calm/Assertive Academy

FOR Teachers • Classroom Aides

Research has shown the importance of giving students choices and the importance of building relationships as a means of creating a positive, happy learning environment where students feel loved and supported. These students are more able to live within the parameters and expectations set by their teachers and principals.

Calm/Assertive Procedures are specific and explicitly taught procedures, routines, and rituals designed to allow educators to effectively build relationships and give healthy control in school. Upon completion of this course, educators will be equipped with three weeks of specific lesson plans to create and maintain procedures for building relationships and sharing control with even the most difficult students.

Kid Whisperer University

FOR Teachers • Parents • Administrators • Coaches • School Staff • Homeschoolers • & Anyone who interacts with kids

Are you a parent, grandparent, teacher, principal, bus driver, cafeteria worker, daycare supervisor, after-school program director, babysitter, or coach? I’ve been teaching for 13 years and finally feel like I have access to the skills I need to help children be responsible for their own behavior and be aware of what their choices are, and that their choices matter.

Scott is very engaging and was a teacher for several years. One of the things he discusses is teachers taking care of their own discipline whenever possible. My office referrals have dropped dramatically this year.

The Calm and Assertive techniques that we now use have completely transformed my teaching and our days are now infinitely more positive and productive. My students understand that I cannot and will not ever make them do anything. They are free to choose their behaviors and they know consequences logically and naturally follow negative behaviors. It really is that simple.

I like that the whole school is on the same page-including paras, teachers, and administrators. Good things are happening academically because we are spending less time on discipline!

I have the best-behaved class that I have had in over 15 years. It is not because they are simply well-behaved kids. It is that I have set limits.

CONFERENCE DETAILS

This three-day conference will teach educators procedures and strategies for building relationships with kids, creating ownership of the classroom, and for sharing control with students on the teacher's terms so that students do not try to take control on their terms. These procedures will have consequences for kids who do not follow the procedures woven into the fabric of the procedure itself. The conference will be completely hands-on and totally interactive. Teachers will walk out of this conference with lesson plans for the first three weeks of school that will set the stage for a successful school year!

CONFERENCE DETAILS

Join us in Fairborn, Ohio for an intensive 3-day workshop July 29-31, 2019. Scott Ervin, The Kid Whisperer, will teach you The Nine Essential Skills for the Love and Logic Classroom™ including how to neutralize argument, delay consequences, utilize empathy, utilize the recovery process, build positive relationships, utilize choices to prevent power struggles, utilize enforceable statements, utilize quick and easy interventions, and guide kids to own and solve their own problems. These skills are equally applicable for educators, parents, and caregivers, and are immediate, simple, and get results.

THE BENEFITS ARE LIFE CHANGING

Use of these skills at home will allow parents and caregivers to improve and repair relationships with their children and regain control of their house and their sanity. Use of these skills in the classroom will allow teachers to have more energy, more time to deliver quality instruction, and will ensure a calm, respectful classroom environment. This, in turn, will raise test scores, increase positivity in the classroom, and improve students’ self-esteem and problem-solving skills. Attending this conference will allow both new and experienced educators to start the school year with the confidence and skills necessary to ensure a successful learning environment for all students.
