Calm/Assertive Academy

July 22-24, 2019

“The Kid Whisperer will change your approach to teaching by restoring sanity to your classroom.”  -Dave, Northwest Local Schools

Research has shown the importance of giving students choices and the importance of building relationships with them as a means of creating a positive, happy learning environment where students feel loved and supported and are able to live within the parameters and expectations of their teachers and administration.

Calm/Assertive Procedures are specific and explicitly taught procedures, routines and rituals designed to allow educators to effectively build relationships and give healthy control in school. Upon completion of this course, educators will be prepared with a specific, fool-proof plan to walk into the first day of school and begin the year with confidence and success!

This three-day conference will teach educators procedures and strategies for building relationships with kids (no matter how tough they are), creating ownership of the classroom, and for sharing control with students on your terms so they don’t try to take it on theirs. These procedures will have consequences for kids who do not follow the procedures woven into the fabric of the procedure itself.  The conference will be completely hands-on and totally interactive. In short, you will walk out of this conference with lesson plans for the first three weeks of school that will set the stage for a successful school year!
